How to Get Your Backyard Ready for the Bachelor Party
Believe it or not, even the lads from the ancient Sparta had stag parties. They held dinners for grooms – to be on the night before the wedding and made toasts. Later, the tradition continued so between the 1940’s and 50’s we had “gentlemen’s dinner” which was thrown by the father of the groom. As the years passed by, things somehow twisted, and classy dinners became parties. And we’re not complaining. There are bunch of ways to throw an awesome bachelor party, and one of them is to throw it in your backyard.
First of all, when throwing a bachelor party, remember that the most important thing is to have fun. Get that “project X” vibe in just a few easy steps. Oh, and don’t get stressed out if you don’t have time to arrange everything perfectly or something like that. You already know that, when you and your mates get royally wasted, you won’t even care about all the details, decorations and activities.
Don’t forget to groom it
No, we’re not talking about your beard this time. We are talking about your lawn, your yard plants and walkway surfaces. Take that lawnmower and mow your lawn, and after that fertilize it. Your grass and your eyes will thank you. After that, prune your plants to make everything look super neat. Eliminate the dirt from the walkway surfaces by washing it with high – pressure hose. When all that is done just add some plants in containers to add some color and to make everything look super nice. Of course, we don’t need to mention that you should do this at least a week before the party, do we?
Make sure your electronics work perfectly
This step is the key of everything and something you have to commit to the most. Take your time to set everything right. Ensure that you have power cables ready for stereo, lighting, fridge, games etc. After you read the rest of the article, you should have a full picture.
Mood lighting
Everyone knows that if you want to have a great party, you need to have a great ambiance. You can add anything you want and that fits, from wooden torches all the way to those huge string lights that go all over your heads like spider webs.
Booze and barbeque
What is a bachelor party without these two? It is like watching a football match without beer. When it comes to booze, you can build a bar out of pallets and fill it with all the drinks you can imagine. Of course, this is the thing that you’re not allowed to run out of under any circumstances. Still, it doesn’t hurt to pace yourself, at least a bit.
Next there comes the grill. Is there anything you would rather see and smell while you’re tipsy on the last night of your friend’s freedom than a freshly grilled meat? Bring out that barbeque and prepare a great meal. Consider making something unusual like adding many salads so everyone can design their burgers however they want.
Get the pool ready
You wouldn’t make a backyard party during the cold months, right? So, if you have a pool, why wouldn’t you make it a backyard-pool-stag party? Clean your pool, throw in a fun inflatable beach chair set for the ultimate “project X” atmosphere and you’re good to go.
Homemade Las Vegas
Of course, the classic stereotypical stag parties are always held in Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Blah blah blah, BORING! Why would you have a “mainstream” party when you can have your own Las Vegas in your backyard? Bring out your poker table and prepare it for the game. Of course, make sure that you have enough chairs, chips and cards. Oh, and let’s not forget about the cigars! Believe us on this one, you will love the look on their faces once they see the casino you made for them.
Big screen is always a win – win
You know how the guys are, maybe some of them simply don’t enjoy drinking and you need to find a different way to keep them entertained. Put your gaming console outside and make a theater screen yourself with the help of huge white piece of fabric and an amazing device called the projector. Bring out some cool games like Mortal combat or NBA and watch them organize the competition of their lives.
That would be it. We hope that we helped and that you lads will have a great time. Drink responsibly and enjoy your “last hours of freedom” like a true party maniac.
