4 Kitchen Items Every New Couple Needs and Forgets to Ask For.
When it comes time to create your wedding registry, you are sure to include at least a few basic kitchen gadgets. While everyday items like plates and servings platters are sure to come in handy, there might be a few extra tools and products that you will want to add to your bridal registry or pick up later on. Your kitchen is one area that definitely needs to be stocked, and there are a surprising amount of useful items you might need but forget to ask for when creating your registry.
One of the most versatile devices that you can have in your kitchen is an oversized rice cooker. In addition to perfectly cooking rice every time, one of those appliances can also make breakfast foods, cooked beans, soups, chili, delicious desserts, and other surprising meals. Before you choose a rice cooker, you should make sure that it has a large cooking cup and multiple heat settings. Smaller rice cookers aren’t nearly as versatile as larger rice cookers, and you won’t be able to cook as many dishes in one of those devices.
Cast Iron Pan
With the proper cleaning and maintenance, a cast iron pan is going to last for decades. Some families have kept their cast iron cookware in their family for multiple generations, and those pans can be used to cook a myriad of foods. Cast iron is very good at holding heat, and you won’t have to worry about fluctuating temperatures when you are deep frying chicken or searing the outside of a steak. You can also bake things in these versatile pans if you need to.
High-Quality Steak Knives
Most people have at least a few pieces of flatware in their home, but while you may remember to ask for silverware, very few couples even think about asking for a high-quality steak knife set. Trying to use dull knives on your foods is going to be very frustrating, and some people don’t realize just how dangerous dull cutlery can be. For long-term use, you are probably going to want non-serrated steak knives made from rust-resistant materials.
Sous Vide Cooker
Cooking meat until it reaches the perfect internal temperature can be extremely challenging, and that is why many cooks now use sous vide devices. Those gadgets allow you to keep water at a consistent temperature, and you are going to have an incredible amount of control over the doneness of your meats. Along with your sous vide cooker, you might also want to invest in a vacuum sealer.
No matter how much time you spend on your registry, you are sure to forget at least a few items, and adding a cash option will allow you to pick up those devices later on. Many registry companies allow users to give cash gifts directly through their websites, and that money can go toward some of the bigger purchases that you have overlooked.
