Honeymoon Cruises in 2015: Check different cruise lines before making your final pick

Saying yes to a wedding proposal is a wonderful experience. Unfortunately there are then hundreds of decisions to be made regarding the wedding venue, the guest list, the food, the honeymoon and so much more! It can be an incredibly stressful time; however it does not need to be!

To avoid all the stress, simply opt for a wedding on a cruise ship, you will already be on your honeymoon and the onboard wedding planners will take care of the entire event for you. Obviously you will need to be a passenger on the cruise but guests will be able to come onboard for a few hours to celebrate with you. The cost can be as little as $795 on top of the cruise price; this makes it a very affordable wedding!

There are several cruise lines which offer weddings while on board:

Princess Cruises

This cruise line offers the ‘Tie the knot’ service on all its cruise lines and the majority of the ships have dedicated wedding chapels! They offer three excellent value packages which all include a wedding planner, flowers, music, photographer, cake and keepsake wedding flutes. Two of the packages offer the opportunity to marry in the onboard chapel, either at sea or harbor side. The third chapel will allow you to indulge in a beach wedding at one of your ports of call. The wedding can even be broadcast to selected people via webcam!

Celebrity Cruises

With the exception of the Xpedition all captain with this cruise line can perform a wedding at sea. This cruise line offers very similar packages to the Princess Cruises, with the same services and choice of venues. However, this cruise line also offers a little extra for those who want the romance turned up a notch. Book the top wedding package and you will get strawberries, champagne, his ‘n’ hers robes and rose petals on your bed; but only for the night of your wedding.

Disney Cruise Lines

This is a great option for those who are looking for something different or those who already have children and want a fun element to their special day. Those looking to tie the knot onboard will gain $100 credit to spend onboard, champagne and strawberries and a dinner at the adult only restaurant. It is even possible, for the right price, to get married on Disney’s private island; Castaway Island.

Carnival Cruise Line

This cruise line has a younger, more party feel to its cruises and may appeal to the younger couple looking to tie the knot. They offer five different wedding ceremonies but the best feature is certain to be the wedding gift registry which allows guest to contribute to the cost of the wedding.

Norwegian Cruise Line

This cruise line also offers three different types of wedding and the venues vary from onboard to Hawaii or Alaska. Each package includes the standard wedding planner, photographer and other items which all the cruise lines offer. Possibly the nicest extra and most romantic is the ability to add a conch shell aisle or a fresh rose arch to any shoreside package.

The best perk is given to those who have more than sixteen people in their wedding party.  They are then given $200 credit and three complimentary cabins. On top of this, each couple in the wedding party will receive $100 credit!

Holland America

This cruise line tends to offer cruise to the more mature, sophisticated end of the market and a wedding on one of these ships is usually chosen by this sector of the market. If your wedding party is big enough and you book at least eight staterooms the wedding couple will get a free stateroom and a host of other benefits.

Whatever type of wedding ceremony you wish for, a cruise line can offer it!
